PLANS for four new homes in Sarnau – including two affordable units – have been approved by Ceredigion County Council planning officers.

Applicant Teifi Developments Ltd said in a supporting statement that there were already buyers interested in both the affordable homes and the two market sale bungalows.

The bungalows have three bedrooms as do the affordable houses, but with a smaller overall footprint.

Outlining some of the previous developments undertaken, including two in Sarnau, which have also included affordable units, the statement adds: “We therefore have a site here of four proposed dwellings, all of which are potentially already sold. If for some unknown reason any of these four potential buyers do not proceed, we have no doubt whatsoever that these properties will sell within a very short space of time.”

The popularity of the developments, often sold without the need for an estate agent, indicate the “dire need” for affordable housing in the area, it adds.

The site is adjacent to Sarnau Park, within the village, and the approved plan includes a private access road off an existing entrance on the A487.
