A FLOOD alert has been issued for the Ceredigion coast as Storm Dennis swept across the Cardigan area today (Saturday, February 15).
Heavy rain and gales up to 70mph are forecast for the rest of today and tomorrow, with a Met Office amber warning in place for rain and a yellow alert for high winds.
Natural Resources Wales today warned of flooding associated with high tides, with the Lower Teifi area on alert.
High tide today in Cardigan is at 12.45pm, with the alert extended to all the weekend.
An NRW spokesperson said: “The wind is forecast to be force 8 and from a south-southwest direction. Offshore waves are expected to be moderate. Be careful on beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths, roads and low-lying land close to estuaries. Be careful as sea spray and waves could be dangerous.”
