ART DROP 19 is a group of 11 invited artists chosen from the vibrant, local west Wales art scene who will be exhibiting throughout February upstairs in Oriel 4 at Canfas in Cardigan.

Llanarth artist Natalie Chapman, granddaughter of the renowned Welsh painter George Chapman, has been invited to select and co curate this exhibition of hidden gems and bring them to the attention of a wider public.

“We want to create an ambitious and refreshing show by young and emerging artists and knew that Natalie was the perfect person to help us make this happen” said Canfas manager Anne Cakebread.

“This exciting new exhibition will stir things up, providing a transfusion of fresh blood into the gallery space.”

Works in the Art Drop 19 exhibition are from various disciplines from painting, textiles, ceramics and print, including Polly Dixon’s intricate, multi-plate prints of which interplay between the whimsical and the serious juxtaposed against Lola Rose Chapman’s serene, dreamlike local landscape and seascape paintings.

Meanwhile downstairs in Oriel 2, Natalie Chapman will also be exhibiting a complete series of her intimate pop art mono print and drawing portraits of heads.

Art Drop 19 and Natalie Chapman will be exhibiting from February 1 to February 23.
