THERE’S something for everyone at this year’s Cilgerran Festive Week with a host of activities planned.

The fun kicks off on Friday, August 16 with a Cilgerran Rovers exhibition football match at the football field at 6.30pm.

Saturday, August 17 sees the horticultural show and the crowning of the carnival queen in the village hall at 2.30pm, while in the evening, the mud wrestling challenge returns at The Rampin from 7.30pm.

Scrufts family fun dog show at Parc y Plwmp will be held on Sunday, August 18 from 11.30am, with a concert in the village church at 6pm.

A car treasure hunt will be held from the Castle Square on Monday, August 19 (6pm, £1 per adult entry), while on Tuesday (August 20) there’s a chance to take part in watersports including coracles on the Teifi at Dolbadau from 11am-4pm, pavement painting from 11am and crafts from noon. There’s also a bingo night in the village hall, eyes down 7.30pm.

Wednesday, August 21 sees a country walk with Eufron Bowen from the Millenium Stone (10am) with an open mic night at The Pendre from 8pm.

Cilgerran’s Got Talent takes to the stage at the village hall on Thursday (August 22) from 6pm, followed by Stars in your Eyes from 8pm.

Friday, August 23 sees a family treasure hunt around the village starting from the village hall at 11am with a video disco and fancy dress at the Pendre from 7pm.

There’s a coffee morning and cake stall at the Millenium Stone from 10am on Saturday, August 24 while the traditional coracle races and raft race take place at Dolbadau from 1.30pm followed by a celebration at the Rampin featuring Cor Clwb Rygbi Aberteifi.

The celebrations are rounded off on Sunday, August 25 with the grand carnival parade through the village from 1.30pm with floats, classic cars, etc.
