A BLAENPORTH man who assaulted another man has been hit with a community order, restraining order and told to pay compensation.

Toby William Holland, of Maen Gwyn, Blaenporth, carried out the attack on January 14 this year and pleaded guilty when he appeared before magistrates at Aberystwyth Justice Centre.

Holland also admitted failing to answer to bail and to appear in court at an earlier date, for which an arrest warrant had been issued.

As part of the community rehabilitation order, the 47-year-old must participate in any activity as required up to a maximum of 10 days and carry out 100 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months.

Holland must also not contact his victim in any way for 12 months as part of the restraining order and pay compensation of £100

Magistrates also ordered him to pay £250 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.
