THERE is a problem with trees blocking drivers’ views on roundabouts outside Cardigan.
The issue was raised at a meeting of the town council by Cllr Richard Jones, who said motorists’ vision was being obscured on the roundabouts on the A487 at Ridgeway and Pont-y-Cleifion.
However, Cllr John Adams-Lewis said the issue had been raised in the past but the highways agency refused to do anything about it.
“Apparently, the trees are there to slow people down,” added Cllr Adams-Lewis.
“If drivers see the way ahead is totally clear as they approach then they don’t tend to slow down and that is why they refused to do anything about it last time.”
Cllr Clive Davies added that when the idea of installing art works on the roundabouts was put forward, it had been rejected as “it would be a distraction”.
