AN Aberporth man has lost his driving licence for two years and must pay more than £800 in costs and fines after pleading guilty to drink-driving.

Darren Grufydd Davies, of Heol y Graig, Aberporth, was driving a Vauxhall Vivaro van in the village on Friday, May 17, when he was stopped by police. He had 96 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Davies admitted driving with excess alcohol when he appeared before magistrates at Aberystwyth Justice Centre.

The 35-year-old was banned from driving for 24 months and fined £660. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £66 victim surcharge.
