A MEETING is being held in Llechryd later this month to discuss how the community as a whole can respond to future disasters or emergencies.

The meeting will take place at the Coracle Hall on Thursday, May 30 at 7pm and has been called by Llangoedmor Community Council and follows the devastating flooding caused by Storm Callum last October.

The meeting will discuss how the village and surrounding area can prepare for such events or other serious incidents in the future, what to do and who to contact in the event of an emergency.

County councillor for the ward Clive Davies said: “We want to try to get a plan together and volunteer team which will help us be more prepared for future events such as fire, flood, snow or whatever.

“It will link into the emergency plan for the county and emergency services in the area.”
