CONCERNS have been raised about possible oil pollution seeping into the River Teifi at Cardigan.
Town councillors have passed on their concerns to Natural Resources Wales to investigate the problem at the slipway off Station Road.
Cllr Yvonne O’Neill said: “There is a pipe on the slip way into the river. Years ago it used to run red from the old slaughterhouse but now it is running with oil.”
Cllr Graham Evans said he recalled a similar problem about four years ago but that an investigation then found the volume of pollution was so small that it had a negligible impact “though that to me does not make sense,” he added.
