CALLING the class of ‘84 – a reunion is being planned for former pupils of Cardigan Secondary School who started there in 1984.

The event is being organised by Nadya Webster (nee Anscombe) and Sam Tuley (nee Williams) and is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 13 at a venue in the town.

“We estimate that there were about 180 pupils in our intake and so far, using social media, we have been able to contact about 70,” said Nadya. “We now want help to find some of the more elusive ones!

“Some pupils are coming from as far away as Asia to attend the event. We know that several pupils are also in Australia and we hope to connect with them via video call on the night. We are also keen to invite former teachers to the event - anyone who taught at the school from 1984 to 1991.

“Our year has not had a reunion yet, so this event is well overdue. We all have a variety of jobs now; some of us are grandparents; many of us have ended up at opposite ends of the world but we all share some really happy years at Cardigan Secondary School.

“Many of us have lost touch and it would be great if this event could bring us all back together again to share some happy memories and perhaps make new ones.

“Unfortunately, we never had an official school photo taken during the time we were at the school. However, when some of us were taking our A-levels, we organised the attached photo to be taken. Perhaps this will get people’s attention?”

If anyone recognises anyone in the photo and if they know someone who started at Cardigan Secondary School in 1984, get in touch with Nadya and/or Sam at aberteifi.reunion@gmail.com
