ALLOWING a young farmer to build a house and shed near Llandysul is part of the “future for agriculture in Ceredigion” a planning committee heard.
An application for a Tan 6 rural enterprise worker’s dwelling at Blaencwmerwydd Farm, Horeb was unanimously approved by members of Ceredigion County Council’s development control committee.
At its meeting on Wednesday (December 12) members were reminded that the application had come before the council on a number of occasions and there had been recent discussions about the amount of land associated with the plan.
It was agreed that a condition to tie 100 acres of land to the farm dwelling be signed before permission is finalised and members also added a condition to build the shed first.
Cllr Peter Davies said: “No matter the land involved, they still milk 180 cows and that could justify in my mind employing someone to look after them.
“If we are going to move agriculture on we need to support this application or there’s no future for agriculture in Ceredigion.”
Boosting the local economy was reiterated by Cllr Wyn Thomas and local member Cllr Keith Evans added his support to the proposal.
