A LOCAL charity is staging a special Christmas spectacular at Cardigan Castle.

Cariad Angel Gowns – the Beulah-based group that helps grieving parents cope with the loss of a baby – is staging its Gwyl Nadolig event on Saturday, December 8 and organisers Angela Sacco and Pauline Harris are promising visitors ‘the best Santa you will ever see in a magical Christmas-themed setting’.

“This Santa is the real deal,” said Pauline. “He is the best Santa I have ever seen and gives his all to meeting and talking to all children.

“He has been doing this for more than 20 years and sums up the spirit and magic of Christmas and will have time for every child.”

And Santa will be joined by Mrs Claus and their elves, the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Christmas Angel, the Toymaker and a host of other special guests and entertainers to make sure it’s a special day remembered by everyone.

The day will run from 10.30am-6pm, with a quiet time planned from 4pm to work with children who may have autism or other special needs.

There will be 28 festive stalls in Castle Green House plus activities for all to enjoy in the grounds, from a treasure hunt to a children’s craft section or even sit and watch a Christmas movie.

Plenty more surprises are also promised on the day.

There will also be a memory tree for families to remember those babies who have been lost.

“We are a charity that is based around babies who have died but you have to remember the children that are living as well,” said Angela.

“Christmas can be a difficult time for many and people don’t know how to deal with it but we hope this event will give something back to the community and give children and adults alike a magical experience.”

Tickets are £5 per child and adults who accompany them will get in for free, the children will get to meet Santa and other Christmas characters and get hand-crafted, unique Christmas gifts.

Adults without children can join in the fun for just £2 admission on the day and those who are bereaved parents are encouraged to bring a memory item from their Angel with them so that they too can meet this very special Santa.

Tickets for Santa are on sale now direct from the castle and also from the Cariad Angels website at cariadangelgowns.org.uk/events or the group’s Facebook page.
