SPEED checks were carried out by the Roads Policing Unit outside Cilgerran School yesterday morning (Wednesday, November 14).
The school has raised concerns regarding the manner of driving, mostly speeding, near to the school when children are arriving and leaving.
Several driver warnings were issued for excess speed and parking on zig-zags outside school.
One driver was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and recorded 34 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath while in custody, narrowly below the legal limit of 35 micrograms.
Similar checks outside Penparc School have also been recently carried out, again responding to community concerns about speeding.
