CARDIGAN Classic Car Club can hold its head high after just missing out on a top national award.

The club has been named runner-up in the Club of the Year category at the Historic Motoring Awards 2018

Now in its eighth year, the Historic Motoring Awards are the most prestigious in the industry, recognising the elite in the international classic automotive world.

It is fantastic recognition for Cardigan, with the club up against the likes of The Ferrari Owners’ Club, The Aston Martin Owner’s Club, etc. Just to be shortlisted was a great honour

The overall winners were The Talbot Owners’ Club.

Chairman Neal Jones attended the presentation ceremony at The Grand Sheraton Hotel, Park Lane, London, where the judges complimented Cardigan Classic Car Club, stating that even as a small regional club, it encourages the use of classics, organises lots of road runs and good shows, accommodating all types of classic and vintage cars.

Octane Car magazine is published internationally and is aimed at the high end, and somewhat wealthy sector of the historic motoring movement.

Neal had the opportunity to rub shoulders with many of these people before, during, and after the formal dinner.

The club plan to continue with its efforts to ensure it deserves its presence in such circles, while keeping it friendly and informal for all who are involved.
