CARDIGAN Classic Car Club has been short-listed for ‘Club of the Year’, which is part of the 2018 Historic Motoring Awards.

The award ceremony will be taking place at The Sheraton Grand Hotel, Park Lane, London on October 25.

Club chairman Neal Jones will be representing Cardigan Classic Car Club on the night, and the event will be hosted by Formula One pundit Steve Rider.

“This is an amazing achievement for our local car club, as the short listed competition we are up against are The Aston Martin Owner’s Club, The Vintage Sports Car Club, The Ferrari owner’s Club, and The Talbot Owner’s Club - all far bigger and grander than us,” said Neal.

The nomination follows on from the club’s attendance at the National Restoration Show held at the NEC earlier this year.

The club had three local members’ cars displayed, plus a wealth of banners announcing that it was from Cardigan, Ceredigion!

The cars were the concours-winning Morris Million belonging to Ted Brooke, the Morris Isis belonging to Mike Doyle, and the Triumph Scorpion belonging to Paul Oakley.

The stands were judged by members of the public visiting the show, plus the show sponsors.
