A Cardigan man currently serving a four-year jail term has been given another 16 weeks in prison, although he will not serve any extra time behind bars.
Nathan James Bowen, of Finch Square, was sentenced to the latest jail term after he admitted growing 16 cannabis plants in an outbuilding at Cefn Farm, Longdown Banc, St Dogmaels, on May 17.
He was also found in possession of Ta growing tent, ten 600 watt bulbs; ten transformers and a vortex fan all used for the cultivation of the Class B drug.
Magistrates has previously adjourned the case to consider whether it was in the public interest to continue with the prosecution given Bowen’s current incarceration.
However, last week they order him to be jailed for 16 weeks, concurrent with his present sentence.
He was also ordered to pay £115 victim surcharge.
