A PUB landlord has been fined a total of £2,200 after a large crowd gathered outside his premises on New Year’s Eve.
William Arthur Davies, 73, of the Ffostrasol Arms, pleaded guilty to failing to get more than 100 people to disperse from the outside of the pub when he appeared before magistrates at Aberystwyth Justice Centre.
He also admitted allowing people to leave the premises while carrying glasses and bottles.
Magistrates fined him £500 for each offence.
Davies also admitted four further breaches of his licence by failing to display a summary of his licence, failing to display signs on the front and rear doors asking customers to leave quietly, failing to provide weekly fire safety check documents and failing to notify Ceredigion County Council of a change of address for the premises licence-holder.
He was fined £300 for each of those offences.
A string of other charges, including the sale of alcohol to underage children and allowing youngsters to be on the premises unaccompanied, were all dismissed.
Davis was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £50 victim surcharge.
