A FISHING boat is understood to have been boarded by fisheries officers off the south Ceredigion coast near Cardigan in relation to alleged illegal fishing.
The incident occurred off Mwnt last Tuesday morning (June 5) when officers on an inflatable from a patrol boat boarded the vessel with two men on board.
A Welsh Government spokesperson said: “Marine enforcement officers are investigating an unregistered and unlicensed vessel for offences related to fishing, following an inspection at Cardigan on June 5.
“We cannot comment further on an on-going investigation.”
It is understood no charges have yet been brought.
