SPORTING and other organisations will gather in the village of St Dogmaels later this month for a day of events to remember two footballers.

Steffan Thomas, aged 32, and 17-year-old Mikey Nicholas, both members of St Dogmaels Football Club, died within weeks of each other in October last year.

The ‘Steff Thomas Memorial’ is being held on Sunday, May 27 at the School Field football pitch between 1pm and 10pm when a warm welcome is extended to all.

Hosted by radio personality and DJ Andrew ‘Tommo’ Thomas of Cardigan, the highlight of the day is a match between St Dogmaels and a Costcutter Ceredigion League select team.

In addition to the main game, junior and ladies' games are to be held in memory of Mikey Nicholas and there will be entertainment that will include Kirilee and Cardigan Rugby Club Choir.

There are plans to put on a barbecue and bar, activity stalls for all ages and an evening karaoke.
