A RESTRAINING order has been issued against a man who admitted harassing a woman in Cardigan and assaulting another man in the town.
Matthew Lee Evans, of Caernarvon Way, Trowbridge, Cardiff had originally denied both charges but then changed his plea to guilty when he appeared before magistrates at Aberystwyth Justice Centre.
The 29-year-old admitted sending the woman abusive texts and messages, including one while she was in hospital, turning up at the woman’s house, sending abusive social media messages and rushing at her and pushing her. He also sent a message asking that court proceedings be dropped
The offences took place between March and July last year.
Magistrates imposed a restraining order on Evans, forbidding him to contact the woman, plus a community rehabilitation order.
Evans also admitted assaulting a man in Cardigan on July 2 for which he was fined £30 and ordered to pay £50 compensation. He must also pay an £85 victim surcharge and costs of £200.
