A MAN and woman are to face trail over a string of animal cruelty charges brought by the RSPCA.
Alexander Kyle Grice, 51, and Victoria Louisa Kyle Grice, 49, of Glanarthan, Llandysul, both deny 14 charges each and are due to appear again before magistrates at Aberystwyth Justice Centre for trial on September 28.
Among the charges they jointly face are failing to protect a basset hound named Bertie from pain, suffering or disease who was allegedly underweight, in poor condition and not living in a suitable environment.
The pair are also accused of causing unnecessary suffering to a bichon frise dog named Bella, who it is alleged was underweight, suffering from severe dental disease, skin disease, mammary tumours and an ear infection.
The pair are also charged with causing unnecessary suffering by failing to treat flea infestations, skin, eye and ear infections for various dogs and failing to supply clean, fresh drinking water.
They also face charges relating to causing unnecessary suffering to a rabbit and a guinea pig.
