RSPCA rope rescue officers from across Wales and England were called to Gwbert on Thursday after a pony fell 80 feet over the cliff edge.
The pony which had missing for approximately seven days was suffering from exposure when lifted to safety by the rescue team.
The operation was led by Chief Inspector for Devon and Cornwall Richard Abbott, who until recently was the Ceredigion RSPCA Officer.
The rescue proved extremely complex as the pony had fallen into a narrow cove with limited access.
The team was eventually able to secure the animal and lift it back up the cliff to safety.
