Former power lifting champion Ben Horne has raised over £150 for the children’s charity Cerebra.
Cerebra was short of representatives for the Cardiff Half Marathon in March and asked Ben from Boncath to tackle this challenge.
“I was asked to run for Cerebra late last year in the Cardiff World Half Marathon. I have a nephew Harvey with autism so this was definitely a charity I had a connection to,” explained Ben.
“I'd never run 13 miles before. I was relying on the experience and knowledge behind my training to see me through.”
Cerebra is a unique charity set up to help improve the lives of children with brain related conditions.
The Cardiff Half Marathon was held on March 21 and saw thousands of runners descend on the Welsh capital.
Ben commented that his experience was fantastic and that he made the 13 mile challenge in just under two hours.
So far Ben has raised an amazing £152 for Cerebra and the total keeps on rising as the time goes on.

When he isn't taking on 13 mile runs, Ben is also a Personal Trainer from Boncath and teaches the Metabolic Conditioning sessions at Cardigan Swimming Pool.
Having been in love with overcoming sporting challenges since the age of 15 he has continued to build his knowledge and aims to encourage people to reach their goals.
As a personal training for over 12 years now and a former powerlifting champion he is looking for the next challenge.
"If you've been knocked down in your ambitions let me encourage you not to quit for good. Work out what went wrong, fix it and try again. Never, never quit,” comments Ben.
