Residents in parts of Cardigan who have been victims of flood misery in recent years breathed sighs of relief after a flood alert was sounded at the weekend.
People living in the Pwllhau, Gloster Row, The Strand, Lower St. Mary Street and other nearby locations were warned that forecast heavy downpours could result in blocked drains and localised flooding.
Council workmen delivered sandbags to various locations but fortunately the rain eased and there were no serious problems.
