Gwesty’r Emlyn Hotel hosted a charity dinner for the Ray Gravell
and friends Charitable Trust raising funds for Dylan Rees who was
seriously injured in a rugby game over 19 months ago. The guest
speaker was Mr Sean Fitzpatrick the All Blacks New Zealand captain.
The event was organised by Miss Gwenllian Davies and General Manager Mr
Keith Eaton. Over £11,000 has been raised as a result of this very
successful evening. The M.C. for the night was Mr Adrian Davies. The charity auction of the evening was successful with
one item, an All Blacks 1989 blazer jacket worn by Mr Sean Fitzpatrick was
sold for £2,600 and bought by Llanybydder RFC. Kind donations of money and
auction items were gratefully received by the local community. The Ray
Gravell trust and staff of the hotel would like to thank all who have
supported this event.
