A language centre is to be set up at Cardigan primary school to improve Welsh learning for children who have moved into the area.
At present youngsters have to use the county's one language lab at Felinfach.
Between September 2012 and 2013 a total of 64 pupils moved into the Cardigan and Llandysul areas, all needing to access Welsh language learning.
The new centre - based in the cabin at the primary school - will not cost the council an extra, this week's learning communities scrutiny committee was told. Funding will come from a Welsh Assembly language grant.
The initiative was welcomed by local councillors.
"I'm pleased to see this provision in the south of the county," said Cllr Mark Cole.
