Three men from New Quay have been warned that prison sentences could follow after they appeared at Swansea crown court to admit their roles in an episode of violence.
Peter John Cope, aged 47, of 9 Llys Dderwen, New Quay, admitted assaulting Robert James Turner at the New Quay football club on March 16 last year by head butting him and rendering him unconscious.
Benjamin Francis Page, 25, and Christian Page, 48, both of 11 Penwig Fields, New Quay, admitted affray on the same date.
Barristers representing the Pages said although they admitted the offence they disputed the prosecution’s version of events.
Judge Paul Thomas said a Newton hearing would be held on February 7 when the sentencing judge would decide the extent of their offending.
They, and Cope, will be sentenced immediately afterwards.
Carina Hughes, prosecuting, said the incidents were captured on CCTV cameras and she was content for the sentencing judge to view the footage and then come to his own view.
Meanwhile, Judge Thomas instructed probation officers to prepare reports on the defendants’ backgrounds.
He granted them bail until February but warned them not to read into that what type of sentences they would receive.
Nor would the sentencing judge be bound by whatever recommendations the probation officers made.
