Ceredigion AM Elin Jones has written to the Chief Executive of the Welsh Ambulance NHS Trust to seek clarification on the Trust’s future plans for the current station at New Quay.
The move comes in response to local reports of question-marks over the future of the station.
Elin Jones, local Plaid Cymru AM for Ceredigion, said: “I’m naturally concerned about any reports that question New Quay Ambulance Station’s future. I have therefore written to the Trust Chief Executive asking him to set people’s minds at rest. There is a real need for good ambulance cover in rural areas in order to ensure that target response times are as achievable here as they are in urban Wales.
"The Ambulance service in Wales is already facing difficulties in reaching its performance targets, and we need to ensure that there is no threat to existing provision in Ceredigion.”
