Commenting on the recent storm damage and floods along the Welsh coastline, Ceredigion’s Welsh Liberal Democrat MP Mark Williams said;
‘I would firstly like to commend the hard work and dedication of all those staff from the emergency services and local authority, and the many local volunteers who have helped out in our community over the past few days, with a special thanks to the RNLI who have been called out over the course of the storms. I urge constituents to stay safe over the next few days whilst the weather remains unsettled.
‘Following the storms we need to deal with the aftermath, particularly the rebuild of the promenade and sea defences in Aberystwyth and remedial work in Borth. I was pleased the Assembly Minister came to visit yesterday, and pledge his support. I look forward to working with him and Ceredigion County Council on this issue. It is clear is that the work required will be costly.’
