CEREDIGION AM Elin Jones is backing Cardigan Food Bank’s winter campaign to prevent needy people from having to choose between food and heating their homes.
Rising energy prices mean that hundreds of people across Wales may struggle to keep their heating on if they want to eat properly over the winter. But Cardigan Food Bank is offering food parcels in the run-up to Christmas to anyone who may be in the position of having to make the choice. The Food Bank is urging anyone who knows someone who is in need to contact Phil Buckman and the team on 01239 615864.
Elin Jones said: “I visited Cardigan Food Bank last month to find out about their excellent work in helping those who are in need. It’s such a valuable service that they offer. In the run-up to Christmas, the Food Bank has contacted me to let me know about their ‘Eat and Heat’ campaign, and I’m happy to give my full support.
“Christmas can be a difficult time if you’re struggling to make ends meet, particularly with the high cost of fuel at the moment. I would urge people who know of friends or neighbours who are facing a difficult choice between eating properly and heating their homes this winter to contact the Food Bank.”
