A 43-year-old woman suffering from arthritis and muscle pain used cannabis to ease pain and her doctor was aware of this, a court has been told.
Defence solicitor Alison Mathias told magistrates that although the doctor knew about Lesley June Burt taking cannabis he did not condone it.
Burt, of 24 Bron Llethi, Llanarth, pleaded guilty at Ceredigion Magistrates Court to a charge of possessing 4.6 grammes of herbal cannabis.
Prosecutor Peter Lloyd said police went to the defendant’s home on Friday, November 2 where she volunteered the class B drug which had a street value of £40.
She was fined £40 with £85 costs and £20 victim surcharge and a destruction order was made for the cannabis.
