Span Arts presents yet another comedy-packed evening with a stellar line-up. On Thursday 11th September the Queens Hall will play host to renowned Northampton comedian Andrew Bird, the enigmatic comedic style of Stephen Carlin and the bitter-hilarious gags of Meryl O’Rourke.

Headlining the evening and described as ‘funny as hell’ by Rhod Gilbert, Andrew Bird’s comedic genius has seen him fly to new heights. A regular warm-up artist for TV shows such as Nevermind the Buzzcocks, Room 101 and Pointless, Andrew’s unique look at life will have you laughing for days after.

Having previously supported Rhod Gilbert and Lee Hurt on tour, Time Out described Andrew as ‘funny, likeable and effortless’. Andrews’s chatty manner, and witty humour, will be circling the local pubs for days. After all this is where he began practicing his material before his career took off.

Second act of the evening is distinguished comedian and writer Stephen Carlin. Strangely known on the scene for his intricate knowledge of international snooker, Stephen is quirky, clever and above all hilarious. Having previously featured on ‘Stewart Lee presents the ten best stand-ups in the world ever’, Stephen has also supported Stewart Lee, Stephen Merchant and Felix Dexter on their national tours. So you’re in good company.

Finally last, but by no means least, Comedy club is delighted to welcome comedian extraordinaire Meryl O’Rourke. Having been requested by Frankie Boyle for his last tour, he regards Meryl as ‘inspiringly funny’ in his book 'Work! Consume! Die!' Proud of her bitterness, potty mouth and quick gags she soon has audiences eating out of her hand. Were excited!
