Escape the wild weather in the Cellar Bar, under the Castle Café, Cardigan, which is dry, warm and cosy and ready to enjoy the best of live music and spoken word entertainment.
Thursday night is the regular Open Mic night; doors open at 7.30pm, slots for performance are available immediately and everyone whether performing or not is sure of a warm welcome. No charge for entry, full bar available.
The last Friday of every month is the Cellar Bards night; a haven for all things poetical, lovers of prose and spoken word performance. Join them this month to celebrate the Welsh launch of the Welsh/Irish anthology - Red Lamp, Black Piano. This book presents the work of writers who have participated in the Caca Milis cabaret in Wexford as part of the Coracle project's literary exchange scheme. The usual open mic slots will be available, £3 entry on the door and the bar opens at 7.30pm.
Saturday March 1 ramps up the entertainment with a return visit from the Boogilators.
The Boogilators' musical roots grow from early blues, R&B and jazz of the 1940s and 1950s, hence the sparing use of slide guitar for lead and their preference for the earthy, expressive voice of the blues harp and sax alongside the distinctive, surging Hammond and rolling New Orleans piano.
Tickets, available in advance from the café or via www.castlecafeandcellarbar.com (or on the night if still available) are just £4, the café will be serving food from its usual menu and the bar and doors open at 7.30pm.
