Glanamman (Welsh Glanaman) is a Welsh village in the valley of the river Amman in Carmarthenshire. Like the neighboring village of Garnant, it experienced a coal-mining boom in the 19th and early 20th centuries, but the last big colliery closed in 1947 and coal has been extracted fitfully since then.

Ammanford took its current name on the 20th of November 1880. The community that existed then and now known as Ammanford dates back to around the early 19th Century. The town is well served by local supermarkets, shops, resturants, chemists, Doctors and Leisure centre aswel as numerous primary schools and secondary schools offering education through the medium of Welsh and English.
