Malta, the small island "key" to allied success in the Mediterranean Theatre of Operations in WW II was the subject of a fascinating talk, including wartime film footage, given by Brig and Chris at the Legion hosted evening on 14th July.
It was the more poignant for the visible brutality of war which is sadly still so evident in Afghanistan today.
The award of the George Cross was so well deserved by the Islanders. Aptly the proceeds of the evening are to be donated to ‘Help for Heroes’.
