ST DOGMAELS go into the Costcutter Ceredigion League Cup Final against Ffostrasol on Easter Monday five points clear at the top of division one and firm favourites for the title.

The Saints - with just one league defeat all season - had to settle for a 2-2 draw with Crymych at the weekend in a keenly- contested encounter between to the two top four teams.

First half goals from Rhys Jones and Robbie Jenkins were cancelled out by Oliver Evans and Danny Williams either side of the interval to earn the battling Preseli men a point.

There was disappointment for the Saints in midweek, however, as they lost 4-1 to Llanboidy in the semi-finals of the Cwpan Coffa Dai Dynamo Davies at Newcastle Emlyn.

A hat-trick from from Ifan Phillips, including two penalties, and a Gethin Scourfield goal set up a final showdown against either Crymych or Corris United, who play on Tuesday.

Second-placed Ffostrasol will be equally determined to claim the League Cup at Aberaeron on Monday, and go into the match in good heart after a 5-1 win at Bargod in the Bay Cup.

Carwyn Morgan led the way with a hat-trick, with Steffan Evans and Iolo Thomas also on target, whilst Rhydian Davies got onto the scoresheet for Rangers.

Third-placed Llanboidy meanwhile dropped points as they went down 5-3 at home to Felinfach, with Paul James scoring a brace of goals for the visitors to secure the points.

Huw Davies, Rhys Jon James and Josh Davies also netted for Felinfach, with Emyr Lewis, Ewan Jones and Ryan Pearce having netted for the Carmarthenshire village outfit.

Callum Davies netted a las-gasp winner as Cardigan Town registered a closely-fought 1-0 at Llandysul, despite Liam Docherty's red card midway through the second period.

First half goals from Steffan Jones and Samuel Dutnel were enough for Crannog to win 2-1 away at Lampeter Town, who replied in the second half through Scott Davies.

Division two leaders Llechryd tightened their grip on the title with a 6-2 win over basement side Aberporth in midweek - with Josh Grota firing a hat-trick for the frontrunners.

Craig Gordon scored twice and George Hicks also netted for Llechryd, with Liam Griffiths and Adam Narbett getting onto the scoresheet fort the visiting side.

At the weekend, goals from Kieran Harman, John Rees and Chris Jones earned Maesglas a 3-2 win over Aberaeron Reserves, who scored through Bryn Evans and Jack Davies.

Crannog Reserves meanwhile beat Aberporth 3-0, courtesy of winning goals from Ian Hamilton, with a brace, and Dan Robinson.

In division three, Tomos George scored four goals in midweek as Crymych Reserves won 5-2 at Maesglas Reserves, with Matthew Williams also scoring. Carwyn Edwards and Marcus Dean replied.

Goals from Adam Betts, Max Evans and Liam Harries earned Llechryd Reserves a 4-1 win at Cardigan Town Reserves, who scored through Neil Evans.

Crymych Reserves won 2-1 at the weekend against Felinfach Reserves, who scored through Philip Petty, whilst Cardigan Reserves against Llanilar Reserves was postponed.
