ST DOGMAELS look firm favourites for the Costcutter Ceredigion League division one title after moving four points clear at the top of the table with four games in hand.

A 3-0 win over Dewi Stars at the weekend maintained their winning momentum and moved them clear of second-placed Ffostrasol, who have just two league games left.

The Saints, who have lost just once in 14 league matches this season, had opened the scoring through Adam Williams, and they were a goal ahead at the half-time interval.

Dewis Stars battled well throughout, but Tommy Furbear doubled the lead with seven minutes to go, and Luke Jones had the final say when he added a third goal in injury time.

The Saints had booked their place in the League Cup final in midweek with a 1-0 win over Llanboidy at Newcastle Emlyn, with Rhys Jones netting the all-important winner.

They will now go on to take on Ffostrasol in the Easter Monday Final at Aberaeron, after they had notched a 3-2 win over Crymych in their semi-final match a fortnight earlier.

Elsewhere in division one goals from Llion Williams and Liam Doherty earned Cardigan Town a 2-2 draw at Felinfach, who netted through Gwion Davies and Paul James.

Joshua Martin and Elis Wilson scored winning goals for Llandysul as they notched a 2-1 win over Crannog, who had themselves on the scoresheet through Ifan Llywelyn.

Llanboidy meanwhile notched a 2-0 home win over Lampeter Town in the second round of the Bay Cup, with Ewan Jones and Ifan Phillips scoring their goals.

In division three, Dion Phillips scored four goals as Ffostrasol Reserves won 6-2 at Cardigan Town Reserves.

Gethin Thomas, Marc Bowen and Kieran Ellis also netted, with Garfield Davies and Nathan Pitkin on target for the hosts.

Jac Morris scored twice for leaders Llanilar Reserves as they notched a 6-1 win away at Maesglas Reserves.

Simon Watson-Smith, Tomos Garrero, Lewis Sim and Trystan Jones netted their other goals, with Iwan Griffiths scoring a consolation.
