Former Newcastle Emlyn footballer Mael Davies has been selected for the Wales C side to take on their England counterparts at the Oval, Caernarfon, on Wednesday, March 30.

Mael has been outstanding for Penybont in the Cymru Premier this season, as well as helping the club to reach their first-ever Welsh Cup final.

Wales C manager Mark Jones has selected a 20-man squad from the JD Cymru Premier, including six players who featured in the last meeting against England.

Alex Ramsay, Emlyn Lewis, Aeron Edwards, Clayton Green, Kayne Mclaggon and Callum Roberts helped Cymru C earn a 2-2 draw at Salford City's Peninsula Stadium in 2019 and have once again been included in the squad.

The New Saints trio Connor Roberts, Danny Davies and Leo Smith, who all lifted the JD Cymru Premier title at Park Hall on Saturday, have also been called up.

Mael Davies is joined by Kane Owen, Lewis Harling and Nathan Wood in having played key roles for Penybont this season.

Hosts Caernarfon Town have two players selected for the fixture, with Dion Donohue and Darren Thomas both included in the squad.

Defensive duo Jake Phillips and Lee Jenkins will represent Flint Town United and Aberystwyth Town respectively.

Haverfordwest County's Ben Fawcett, Bala Town's Will Evans and Cardiff Met's Tom Price have also been named in the squad.

This will be the third meeting between the two sides following the inaugural clash at Barry Town United's Jenner Park in 2018, when England came out on top with a 3-2 win, and the fixture at Salford in 2019.

Tickets for the game are available on www.faw.cymru/tickets and can also be purchased at The Oval. The game will also be streamed online by S4C on the Sgorio Facebook page and on the S4C website.
