Costcutter Ceredigion League Round Up / by JOHN ADEY

St Dogmaels have surged back to the summit of the Costcutter Ceredigion League division one with a 4-0 win at Lampeter Town.

One point clear with games in hand on a number of their rivals, the Saints will fancy their chances of making it three successive championship titles.

It was 3-0 and all over bar the shouting at the interval, after a Louis Harding cross was converted by Adam Williams for the first goal.

A delicate Rhys Jones chip doubled the advantage, and Adam Williams hit his second goal of the game when heading in another pin-point Harding cross.

The visitors appeared to ease up during the second period, but were streets ahead of their opponents, and Rhys Jones' cross-shot wrapped it up.

The three points' haul enabled Saints to go above Ffostrasol, who were not in action, and the Teifi Estuary villagers have four games in hand on their rivals.

Llanboidy’s title challenge took a dive when the west Carmarthenshire visitors were held 1-1 against Crannog at the Urdd Cente e in Llangannog.

Ifan Phillips got the Llanboidy goal but leading home marksman George Colven's clinical finish ensured that his side picked up a point.

Bottom of the table New Quay may be destined for a quick return to division two, but the Seasiders notched a first success of the campaign with a 3-1 win against visitors Felinfach.

Steffan Williams, with a brace, and Darcy Wells secured the points at Parc Arthur, but they remain eight point adrift of second-from-bottom Llandysul.

Llandysul shared the points in a goalless draw with fellow strugglers Cardigan Town at King Geoge V Playing Field, despite their being chances at both ends.

With runaway division two leaders Llechryd not playing, Bargod Rangers missed a chance to close the gap at the top when going down to a 3-1 at St Dogmaels Reserves.

Jodan Owens, with a double, and Eddie Wigley hit the target for the Saints, with Thomas Poskitt on target for the visitors.

Lowly Aberporth suffered a fifth defeat of the season when losing 2-1 against visitors Pencader United at Penparc.

Sam Coleman and Connor Timms were the United marksmen, with Iwan Davies getting on the scoresheet for the Airmen.

Aberaeron Reserves won 1-0 at home to Maesglas, with Endaf Williams netting the winner.

In division three, goals by Tomos Davies, with a brace, Gareth Davies, Mathew Williams and Tomos George earned Crymych a 5-1 win over Cardigan Reserves, with Steven Grota replying.

Second in the table Ffostrasol Reserves notched a 5-1 win against Llanboidy Reserves.

Tomos Evans, with a brace, Dafydd Davies, Mark Bowen and Steffan Jackson got the goals for the visitors, with Daniel Blain replying.

Llechryd Reserves beat Felinfach Reserves 6-1, and the match between Maesglas Reserves and Llanilar Reserves was postponed.
