THEY are calling it the quickest transfer turnaround in Welsh football after a player with Costcuter League champions St Dogmaels signed and played for neighbours Cardigan Town - and then after the game returned to the Saints.

Shock waves reverberated on the local circuit after Saints midfielder and leading marksman with 18 goals Rhys Jones joined arch-rivals Town.

After the Magpies went down 4-1 against Aberaeron in a friendly encounter at King George V Playing Field, 21-year-old old Jones opted for a return to School Field, although the player was not giving details of his decision.

There was a similar occurrence during last season, which was declared null and void by the Football Association of Wales.

Before the premature end to the season, experienced Town midfielder Ben Davies transferred to St Dogmaels, but due to injury was not involved and has now re-joined his former club.
