CRYMYCH captain Sam Kurtz was in top form as his side rounded off their first Ken Morris Cup campaign with a win.

The visitors restricted Narberth to 117-9 in 20 overs, and then passed the total just one wicket down as Kurtz finished 75 not out.

The win came too late to affect the group standings, with Haverfordwest 3rds having already won Group B and qualified for the final.

The Narberth innings was carried by 35 from Nigel Nicholas, while 27 extras also boosted things as well as a useful 16 not out from Charlie Phillips.

Crymych kept on top through hauls of 3-24 from Alan Luke and 2-5 from Steffan Jones.

And although Jamie Bohata (1-17) then struck early, Kurtz and No 3 Richard Thorne (26 not out) made light work of chase.

It meant every Ken Morris group game was played to completion, testament to both the clubs and competition organiser Richard Howell.

Crymych will finish off their season this Sunday, September 13 with the Tivy T20 Finals Day at Llechryd – where they will compete against the hosts, Aberaeron and Llandysul.
