THE manager of a champion football club and his partner raised more than £300 from a road run in aid of a local dogs’ charity stretched to the limit caring for animals abandoned by the easing of lockdown.

After Steve Jerry Williams, boss at St Dogmaels FC, and Kirilee Dermot completed 11.2 kilometres in one hour and 17 minutes in the Cardigan and Cilgerran areas, Kirilee thanked everyone who made donations.

West Wales Poundies owner Lianne Evans said: “We are grateful to Jerry and Kirilee and those who gave their support.”

In conjunction with fund-raising for the dog charity, Steve and Kirilee are helping the NHS with the sale of football tops.

The St Dogmaels first XI will be kitted out in NHS tops next season with 33 per cent of the cost of each shirt donated to the health service fighting an unprecedented crisis.

And the way the tops are being snapped up – 50 were sold on the first day – a substantial sum is likely to be raised.
