THERE is a growing consensus among the Welsh football public that the Football Association of Wales will this week curtail the domestic season.

On Friday the FAW outlined possible options to Cymru League and Welsh Women’s League club representatives who were to make known their preferences over the weekend and a final decision is expected at any time.

After it was resolved to delay a decision, questions were being asked as to the position regarding league championships as consideration is for a premature end to the campaign and not declaring it null and void.

If league positions at the time of suspension of all football activity due to the pandemic are allowed to stand, St Dogmaels would retain the Costcutter League Division One title despite having five games remaining.

At the time second-placed Cardigan Town were nine points behind their neighbours but with three games in hand, and third in the table Newcastle Emlyn were still in contention.
