Costcutter Football League club Llandysul is expected to appoint a new first team manager today (Tuesday) after the sudden departure of Gwynfor Edwards.

The 35 year-old coach who is from Llanelli, and has held coaching positions at various clubs, has been appointed manager of Carno in the Mid Wales League Division One.

He took over the reins at Llandysul Park in the summer of 2018 and in his only season at the helm led the Swallows to the Costcutter Easter Monday League Cup and Bay Cup.

After his appointment as boss of the Powys outfit Edwards said: “I really enjoyed my time at Llandysul and am now looking forward to a new challenge at Carno which is a club with tremendous ambition.”

Since Edwards left the teams have been run by senior players and at the weekend a source said: “This has all come very suddenly but I’m sure everyone will pull together and get behind a new manager.”
