The KUGB Wales karate team recently travelled to Lisbon, Portugal, to compete at the World Shotokan Karate Championships.
Members of the squad consist of students who train at various clubs from all over Wales.
Ysgol Gyfun Emlyn student Lily Rees (Tekki RS Aberaeron), Bro Teifi student Bethany Nelson (Tekki RS Aberaeron) and Emily Kahl (Merthyr Tydfil SKA) fought hard to achieve a place on the world podium taking home bronze in their cadet team kumite category (age 16-17).
Lily was joined by her siblings Connor and Hannah who represent Wales at international level. Hannah is currently going through a three-day selection process in the hope of also becoming a member of the British Army karate team.
