A batting collapse for the second week in succession led to Llandysul going down to a seven-wicket defeat at the hands of visitors Bronwydd at Tir-Dref.

Home skipper Ben Edkins must have had some reservations over his decision to bat as wickets tumbled and the homesters were all out for 77.

Only Edkins (12) at first wicket down, Llewellyn Hughes (22) at number five and Luke Swift (18) reached double figures and the innings closed in the 30th over.

Josh Renken returned figures of 3-27 in nine overs and there were two wickets apiece for Tom Gleeson and James Cale.

Carrying on where he left off with the ball opener Cale was undefeated with 47 which included seven boundaries and although losing three wickets Bronwydd reached the target in 21 overs for the loss of three wickets.

Llandysul 2nds fared far better when notching an eight-wicket away win over Llandarcy in Division Five.

The home side posted 204-7 in the allotted overs and the visitors made 207-2 in 37.5 overs to bank 19 points.
