It was disappointment for Llandysul in the South Wales Cricket Association as the firsts lost by six wickets against Llanelli in the Teifi Valley and the second string went down to an eight-wicket away defeat against new Division Five leaders Swansea Civil Service 2nds.

In a reduced overs game at Tir-Dref openers Ieuan Paske (47) and Rhydian Harries (28) got Llandysul off to a bright start but the remainder of the batsmen failed to impress with only Bleddyn Morgan (16) in the middle order reaching double figures as the innings closed on 125-8 after 30 overs.

For the visitors Iwan Rees and Alex Symmons picked up three wickets apiece.

In the Llanelli reply opener Iwan Rees scored 55, which included six boundaries before being bowled by Arfon Jones and with Ioan Phillips (23) put on 56 for the first wicket as the visitors got the runs for the loss of four wickets in 27.3 overs.

Llandysul 2nds lost Gareth Chapple who was caught and bowled by Jon Doyle without troubling the scorers but Meurig Jones (36), Luke Swift (38) and Carwyn Jones (28) kept the scoreboard ticking as their side reached 135-6 in 40 overs.

Adam Glaznieks returned figures of 4-32 in seven overs.

As the home side replied Rob Jones (36) and Adam Stannard (57) shared a century opening stand and the homesters knocked off the runs for the loss of two wickets.
