A first rate all-round team performance enabled Llandysul to succeed for the sixth time with a comfortable five-wicket away win over Briton Ferry Steel in the South Wales Cricket Association Division One.

The home side lost opener and wicketkeeper Efan Hynes early on when he was caught by Llewellyn Hughes off Steffan Jones but his opening partner Lloyd Clement (40) got his head down and with Craig Evans who made 89 and skipper Jason Hughes guided their side to a total of 233-9 in the allotted 50 overs.

Jason Jones snapped four wickets, Ieuan Paske picked up three and there were two for Arfon Jones.

Llandysul opener Gary Williams (62) and Ieuan Paske (30) shared in a stand of 100 and skipper Ben Edkins continued the good work with a fine innings of 71 as the homesters reached the target for the loss of five wickets.

Not to be outdone by the seniors Llandysul 2nds sprang a one wicket win over Division One leaders and visitors Skewen 2nds at Tir Dref.

Skewen posted 146 for the loss of eight wickets with wicketkeeper Paul Williams making 53 which included two sixes.

Craig Gordon and Aled Jones picked up two wickets apiece.

As the home side knocked off the runs with one wicket to spare Gareth Chapple (38) and Meurig Jones (25) shone with the bat.
