Excitement is already beginning to mount at Cardigan Rugby Club after the appointment of vastly-experienced and respected youth coach Tudor Harries as first team head coach.

It will be his second stint in the Cardi hot seat, having been in charge in the 1990s.

After his first coaching stint with Cardigan the former club outside half excelled as Crymych RFC youth coach before returning to the King George V Playing Field club.

He will be assisted by forwards coach Neil Morris and backs coach Iwan Davies and the new supremo said training will start shortly for the new season when a warm welcome will be extended to old and new players.

A club spokesperson said: “Tudor is a quality coach and we are delighted he has agreed to have a second spell as head coach.”

Harries succeeds player/coach Colin Davies who has stood down to concentrate on his Teifi Kitchens business in the town.
