The 33rd annual Newport Barbarian Sevens competition went the way of Crymych as they overcame Whitland to claim the Glyn and Penny Rees Memorial Cup.
The Preseli Men overcame the Cardigan Exiles by six tries to three (6-3) to reach the final, while their second team (Tarwod Crym) were beaten 3-1 by the Borderers in the other final four match.
And in a close final played in bright sunshine, it was Crymych who prevailed 4-2 with Dean James impressing on route to claiming the Player of the Tournament award. The champions also received a £600 cash prize for their troubles, with £300 going to the runners up.
In the Plate final, the Exiles beat Tarwod Crym 6-2 to claim the £175 prize.
